"It is human nature to be drawn to the exotic and far away, yet I think at times this causes us to miss what is in our own back yards. All of my images were taken within a few dozen miles of downtown Syracuse. My goal is to represent the incredible beauty of Central New York. The ever changing weather may be a common topic here, but it affords us varied opportunities to enjoy the outdoors that few other regions can offer. I sail, ski, bicycle, hike and take lots of pictures. Many years ago I studied fina art at Syracuse University. I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. As John Lennon observed,"Life is what happens while you're busy making plans". This past Autumn, I retired from the Post Office after 38 years. While I haven't grown up yet, I have been busy with my camera. I hope you enjoy my work." Spencer Baker |
